As a long time Artist in the Schools course provider, Lani is a vendor for Forest Charter, Grass Valley Charter, Twin Ridges,Yuba River Charter, and Arete Charter. If your child’s school is interested in her Wednesday Homeschool offerings, please have them contact her directly to request that she become a vendor! Welcome to the world of clay and creativity!

Hand Building

Throughout this course, students will learn various hand building techniques, such as pinching, coiling, slab building and sculpting to empower them to create unique, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. We will guide children through the fundamentals of ceramic artistry, providing a safe and encouraging environment for them to experiment and create.

Teen Pottery Wheel Classes

Students will learn basic tool & equipment use and wheel throwing skills: centering, bringing up the walls, trimming, surface treatment and glazing. 

Tactile Clay Play for Young Children

This class focuses on the joy of sensory exploration through clay. Without the pressure of creating finished pieces, kids will have the freedom to squish, roll, and shape the clay as they wish. This unstructured play helps develop fine motor skills and encourages creativity in a relaxed and fun environment. Join us for a playful, hands-on experience where little ones can discover the endless possibilities of clay through pure, uninhibited play!

Hand Building for Ages 8 - 18

Throughout these themed courses, students will learn various hand building techniques, such as pinching, coiling, slab building and sculpting to empower them to create unique, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. We will guide children through the fundamentals of ceramic artistry, providing a safe and encouraging environment for them to experiment and create.

In My House

Kids bring their world to life in clay by creating pieces inspired by the rooms and spaces in their own homes! From tiny furniture and cozy décor to favorite objects and imaginative mini-scenes, students learn pinch, coil, and slab techniques while shaping what feels personal and meaningful to them. A creative and comforting class all about home, memory, and play.

Springtime Pots — Handbuilding (Ages 8–12)

A fun, nature-inspired clay class where kids create spring-themed pots and sculptures using handbuilding techniques. Students make planters, flower bowls, mini garden creatures, and more while learning pinch, coil, and slab skills. Perfect for young artists excited to welcome spring through clay!

Springtime Pots — Pottery & Handbuilding (Teens)

Celebrate the season with a fresh set of spring-inspired ceramics! Students explore both wheel-throwing and handbuilding techniques to create functional pieces like planters, vases, flower bowls, and textured garden pots. A joyful class full of organic forms, playful surface design, and bright glaze options.

Let’s Go Camping — Handbuilding (Ages 8–12)

Pack your imagination—we’re heading into the great outdoors! In this adventurous clay class, kids create camp-inspired pieces like tiny tents, forest animals, lanterns, campfire scenes, and nature-themed pots. Students learn handbuilding techniques while crafting their own mini wilderness full of fun details.

Intro to Pottery & Making Functional Ceramics

Designed for teens, this class introduces the foundations of pottery and handbuilding while focusing on creating functional, everyday ceramics. Students explore techniques like pinch, coil, slab construction, and wheel-throwing basics, then glaze and finish pieces such as mugs, bowls, and small vessels. A great starting point for anyone excited to learn the art of working with clay.

Clay Café — Handbuilding (Ages 8–12)

Welcome to the Clay Café, where kids cook up imaginative ceramic treats! Students sculpt realistic or whimsical “food” creations—like donuts, mini cakes, fruit bowls, mugs, and snack trays—while practicing pinch, coil, and slab building. A playful class perfect for young artists who love both art and pretend play.
