Foothills Ceramic Art Museum proudly presents its New Exhibition: "Repeat Customer” - Featuring six California artists whose work kept collector Kenneth Underwood coming back for more:

Otto & Vivika Heino, Masuo Ojima, Jeanne Moir, Jan Wax & Chris Bing, Eleanor Murphey, Cathra-Anne Barker

Exhibiting January 16 through March 31, 2018
Reception: February 9th, 5 - 7pm

Gallery & Museum Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 11am to 4pm

Otto & Vivika Heino are giants in the ceramics world.

Jan Wax & Chris Bing combine beautiful glazes and natural sculptures.

Cathra-Anne Barker and Eleanor Murphey worked together in La Jolla, CA for many years. Their work fits well in craftsman-style homes.

Jeanne Moir has a boundless imagination and an over the top decorative sense.

Masuo Ojima’s work is architectural, but also very earthy, an unusual combination.

Ken describes the exhibit...
These six artists created a personal bond with me. Their work and their personalities are uninhibited and giving. I loved talking with them as much as seeing their work. I met them either at their studios or at arts and crafts fairs in the Los Angeles area in the 1990’s. Whenever they would do a show within 100 miles, I would go.

Each is very different, but each is a mature artist with a clear, signature style. These pieces reveal the two (at least) sides of my personality. The playful colorful fun side and the learned muted serious side. I appreciate that ceramic artists can appeal to both.
