Join local poet Bennett Berardi as we explore visual art through poetry and poetry through visual art. As a small group we will participate in discussions and free-writes, focusing on art by resident and visiting artists of the center’s gallery. 

For anyone looking to broaden their appreciation for art, start or deepen a writing practice, and explore the genera of Ekphrastic poetry. Everyone is welcome! No previous experience required. Limited to 8 spaces

General format will be:

  1. Roundtable discussion of themes, style, and associations relating to a chosen artwork from the gallery. 

  2. Quiet period of free writing 

  3. Return to the group to share your writing (optional) and discuss what came up.
