Our once a month Jewelry Workshop Day is now available to those who have taken Cabrina Channing’s silversmithing classes in the past at ASiF. All equipment will be set up for open use as well as all necessary chemicals.
Tool kits may be temporarily rented out for the day as well. Silver Solder will be provided as needed, however, sterling metals will not be. You will need to provide your own metal sheet, wire, and bezel to work with.
Students will have the opportunity to work on their projects with hands on assistance from Cabrina throughout the day. It is suggested that you come prepared with projects to work on and designs ready to make the best use of your time!
Price is $80 for an 8 hour day 10am-6pm. (No discounts for half or partial days)
Maximum for open studio lab is 8 jewelry makers.

In this class you will learn much more than the basics!
Learn professional jewelry making skills and techniques and turn your jewelry ideas into reality!
Students learn basic fabrication, butt soldering, sweat soldering, basic forming, annealing, pierce work, textures, terminology, tools and equipment, importance of posture, safety, making simple tools and sanding sticks, simple bezel stone setting, making jewelry findings, sanding, polishing, pickling, drafting, and designing.
Pricing for this beginning course includes over 40 hours of exclusive instruction and intimate studio time, use of professional equipment and a silver and copper metal art kit.
Day 1: Introduction to soldering, sawing, filling, and creating a textured copper ring
Day 2: Make a silver sweat soldered pierce-work ring.
Day 3: Make a bezel set cabochon pendant with wire detail work
Day 4: Students will design and create their own piece of jewelry
Day 5: Students will have all day to bring all of their projects to completion.
